Ravenna Helson has performed throughout the US and Europe, at the Casals Festival in Puerto Rico, and the Costa Rico Music Festival. She has been a member of the New York City Opera National Company, the Detroit, New Jersey, and Milwaukee Symphonies. Currently, she is principal cello of the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, and performs and teaches in the Milwaukee/Chicago area. As baroque cellist she has appeared with Santa Fe Pro Musica, Comic Intermezzo of Chicago, Saint Louis Baroque, Ensemble Musical Offering, at the Boston and Bloomington Early Music Festivals, the Green Lake Festival, and on Northwestern University’s Dunbarton Early Music series. She teaches chamber music in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony’s Davidson Chamber Music program and is cello instructor in their Progressions program. She is a graduate of the Juilliard School and Yale University.
